What are the dutyfree terms and conditions ?
By filling up and signing the Export Sale Form (Bordereau de Vente à l’Exportation), you were granted a tax-free purchase (sale not subject to VAT).
This Export Sale Form includes 4 colored sheets:
- 1 white sheet: Vendor’s copy
- 2 pink sheets: 1 copy for the customs & 1 copy to mail back to us
- 1 green sheet: Buyer’s copy (to keep for records)
To maintain the benefit of the duty-free sale, the Export Sale Form must be stamped by a Custom Officer upon your departure from French Polynesia in order to certify that the item has been exported overseas.
Air Departure : Go to the Custom’s desk at Tahiti International Airport. The pink sheet stamped by the customs will be placed in the provided stamped envelope and dropped in the mailbox located in front of the custom’s desk of Tahiti Faaa International Airport. |
Sea departure (cruise ship) : Contact your Purser. |
Sea departure (yachting) : Contact your Port agent. |
IMPORTANT : If you were unable to present the Export Sale Form upon departure, you may still have it stamped by the Customs of your country, the French Consulate, or a Public Notary. |

I presented myself at the customs front desk and no one was there. What could I do ?
The custom agent may be temporarily absent from his/her desk. In that case, you will find on the right side of his desk a InterCall device. Please press on either the button labelled as « douane 1 » or « douane 2 »
